Wait there’s an ask limit? The hell?

I guess there must be, as it’s suddenly in effect again. Ugh.

Almost no outlets covered the obvious scam that was Areal beyond the initial “Look at this Stalker-like game”.
They did not cover the studio’s insane response to questions.
They did not cover the studio claiming Erik Kain’s articles about them were a plot by the chinese to destroy their project.
They did not cover comments on the kickstarter going up by 3000% overnight despite the backers not increasing in any significant amount.
They did not cover the fact that in last few days, when it became obvious the project would not be funded, that several very generous individuals suddenly backed in amounts from 5-10 thousand dollars.
Now that Kickstarter has deemed the project suspicious enough to suspend, they are covering it, and would like you to kindly forget all those other things they didn’t think were important enough to talk about, instead deciding to post about.. I don’t know, memes, or articles intended to make them feel morally superior to their own audience.
Polygon, Kotaku, were not interested in these, even with the very real possibility some of their audience could be backing this scam and unaware of these things.
Polygon and Kotaku aren’t actually interested in journalism.

When did you learn how to use a computer?

a>Ahh yes. The subject of my long lost documentary.

Back in dinosaur times when Kool Herc was inventing DJing and the internet wasn’t invented by the US government, and I was just a moderately-sized baby commander, a space wizard appeared and TAUGHT ME THE WAYS OF THE WEB. Karate Kid-style, I had to balance on one foot to cross the information superhighway. It was amazing. We were looking at cat memes in the future.

The Web Wizard is responsible for all my many layers of mystique and my cool guy facade. Look at him.

So cool, so mysterious. No wonder I’m so awesome.

Basically, Vanilla Ice, I am evidently pretty awesome and you aren’t. How could you possibly steal from the wonder of Merc and Bowey? For shame. For shame.

THIS RIGHT HERE THIS BULLSHIT IS WHAT GIVES FEMINISM A BAD NAME. This degrading comic is just another way ignorant people label feminists as crazy men-haters. People need to understand that feminism isn’t about blaming men, it’s about creating equality for women and men. None of the oppression women experience is imaginary, and joking that it’s made up invalidates the abuse and inequality women experience not only in our country, but around the world.

I’m curious why you think feminism is about equality when:
Mary Koss helped keep rape penetrative, effectively erasing male victims of woman-on-male rape and woman-on-woman rape in the law’s eyes.
Feminists support the Duluth model, where men are always assumed to be the dangerous party in a domestic disturbance by the police.  When it is proven that women and men batter approximately the same rate.
Feminists protest discussions about men’s issues, held by a gay man and a woman, and go so far as to commit a crime by pulling a fire alarm.
Feminists threatened the British women who pioneered the women’s shelter system.  With bomb threats, threats of violence against her family and killing her dog.  When she dared support a movement for men’s shelters.
Feminists promoting alimony change in Florida to prevent women from paying their husbands money, since for the first time in recent memory men were eligible for alimony
Feminists promote the bullshit wage gap, misrepresenting it as ill intent when it is really a national average based on women’s choices, not employer intent.
The existence of the “Don’t be that guy” campaign, which paints all men as rapists by default, who need to be educated that rape is bad.  And erases the victims of women-on-woman and woman-on-man rape.
Guess what?  Patriarchy, internalized misogyny and #Yesallwomen are exactly what the comic is describing.  Patriarchy blames men for everything, even when men suffer, calling it “Patriarchy backfiring”.  Internalized misogyny blames men for women who don’t agree with feminism, portraying men as brain washing, controllers who force women into agreeing with them.  And #yesallwomen is blaming men for the faults of a few, while at the same time painting women as perfect, innocent angels who are incapable of doing the same thing to both men and women.
It is utterly, completely disgusting how feminism blames men for everything while ignoring the women who batter, rape, demean, shame and other hateful things that men get blamed for.  It constantly makes non-gendered issues into gendered issues.
Oh.  And because it blames men all the time, it effectively erases the victims of lesbian and woman-on-woman hate, violence and rape.
So, please, shut up about it being about equality.

I think about pokemon in non-battle situations a lot. Like pokemon who have been trained/raised to be helpers and assistants than to be battle partners.

Pokemon visiting hospitals to cheer patients up like dogs and cats do. Or ones that help kids learn to read, speak, swim, go through therapy?! Even pokemon who’s abilities help owners with specific disabilities?!

I love thinking of pokemon outside of battle situations.

Service Pokemon!

SERVICE POKEMON!!!!

A game about skipping rocks across water.

This actually manages to be oddly serene and relaxing for what’s essentially just less click-intensive Flappy Bird. I quite like it.
